Aloha from Upcountry Maui,
The mornings and evenings have a nice chill to them this time of year. It wasn’t so as cool this morning but I still enjoyed walking the doggies. Has anyone else noticed the bombardment of holiday decorations/music in the stores? It seems that retailers are sneaking them in earlier each year. Oh well, ‘tis the season I guess. Here is where you’ll find Phil & Angela Benoit this week:
Thursday, November 13 (tonight) at WHALERS VILLAGE in Ka’anapali, Center Stage from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Friday, November 14 at ‘AMI ‘AMI BAR & GRILL in Kihei at the Maui Coast Hotel from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Saturday, November 15 at ‘AMI ‘AMI BAR & GRILL in Kihei at the Maui Coast Hotel from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Sunday, November 16 at PITA PARADISE WAILEA from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Tuesday, November 18 at MERRIMAN’S KAPALUA from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
That’s it for now, take it easy and hope to see you soon.
P. S. Here’s a blast from the past, spring of 1986 to be exact. I was working as a tour hostess at the Maui Tropical Plantation (ORIGINAL crew) and our fellow tour hostess Keala Ngum was a contestant in the Miss Maui Pageant that year. Our tour manager at the time, Leihua Bissen, was a former Miss Maui and Miss Hawaii so the MTP tour department was involved in the pageant in one way or another. Some of us tour hosts and hostesses were part of the pageant dancers – we danced the opening number. The theme of the pageant that year was “Island Feeling”. Here I am with my dance partner and cousin Mitchell Pellazar. The one thing that stands out in my memory looking at this photo is that although it was fun performing, I was very nervous about my bandeau top falling down.
Warmest aloha,
Angela
