One more thing, our brother David Benoit has started an Indiegogo campaign to record “Symphonic Sounds of Montalvo” EP featuring two of his new symphonic works to be recorded with the West European Symphony Orchestra in Portugal in September. “Many of you know me as a jazz pianist — composer of evergreen songs like “Freedom at Midnight” and “Kei’s Song.” Well, I’d like to share a secret with you — jazz may be my bread and butter, but I’ve actually been composing works for symphonic orchestra for many years. These symphonic compositions don’t fall under the jazz category, and there is no budget for this project with the traditional labels I have been signed to over the years. In order to bring this new modern American music to life, I have to find funding independently. That’s where I need your support.” Check out his Indiegogo campaign page here for more information or to back this campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/david-benoit-s-symphonic-sounds-of-montalvo-ep-music–2#/
That’s it for now, have a fabulous rest of the week and hope to see you soon.
P. S. We had a really fun evening with our dear friends Don & Pam Nichols recently. It was a rare occasion to have us all in the same room at the same time as these two travel the world (THE WORLD) when they’re not working hard. And they have been known to surprise their musician friends at their gigs on the Mainland. Here we are about to enjoy some shrimp cocktail pupus before the scrumptious osso buco dinner Pam prepared for us. Yes, we had some very happy opu!
