Whoa, the morning slipped by me and I almost forgot to send out my weekly email. It is the holidays after all and as usual life is crazy these days but we are managing to keep our sanity and look forward to another week of music. Thank goodness for this gorgeous day! Wednesday, December 18 at the 7TH ANNUAL DEREK BEATY JAZZ PARTY at Charley’s in Paia. This annual event is to honor and celebrate the memory our dear friend and fellow musician Derek Beaty. There will be lots of entertainment with different musicians from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
Also this evening I will be on Mana’o Radio, 91.7 FM for the “DIVAS’ CHRISTMAS” show with fellow ‘chirps’ Gina Martinelli and Kelly Covington from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The talented Gilbert Emata will be providing his tasty stylings for us on the keyboard as we sing and play holiday tunes and other delights. You can also listen on line at: www.manaoradio.com .

P. S. Here’s photo of the aforementioned Derek Beaty on the left playing us upright bass “Gretchen”– man, that dude could swing! This was taken 12 years ago at the old Moana Bakery & Café in Paia. This is an awesome picture as it also includes another great friend and musician, sax player David Choy on the right.
